Chocolate Thick Shake

2-1/4 cups for 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup hemp hearts
  • 6 Medjool dates, pitted and halved
  • 1-1/2 cups filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, taste to add more
  • pinch sea salt
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons good quality un-roasted cacao powder, more to taste
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons cacao nibs, more to taste
  • 2-3 ice cubes

Directions

  1. Pour 1-1/2 cups filtered water in a blender container, preferably a high-speed blender.
  2. Add the oats, hemp seeds, and the pitted date halves. Set aside for 10 minutes to allow the oats, hemp, and dates to soften.
  3. Add the vanilla and cinnamon. Start the blender on low, and increase the speed to high. Blend until the ingredients are completely incorporated
  4. Add the cacao, nibs, and ice cubes and blend, again starting on lo high. Blend until thick and creamy.
  5. Pour into 2 glasses or cups and enjoy!

Notes

Variation 1: Chocolate Banana Thick Shake

To each cup of the Chocolate Milkshake, add 1/2 frozen banana. Blend until creamy.


Variation 2: Hot Chocolate Thick Shake

You can microwave the end result to create 'hot chocolate'; however, just know that it will thicken, so you may need to add water in addition to the ice in the making of it.
